At MFI we recognise that many disabled customers have individual needs when making use of and purchasing our goods and services.
In 2001 we were awarded the EASE (Ease of Access to Service and Employment) special award, by the Queen Elizabeth Foundation, and we have been members of the Employers Forum on Disability for several years.
All of our new and refurbished buildings are designed with the needs of our customers in mind. The following facilities will be available in the majority of our branches:
Disabled parking
Ramped access
Hearing loop system
Customer wheelchairs
Accessible toilets
Well-lit showrooms
Wide walkways
Customer transaction packs
Staff trained in Disability Awareness
In home planning facility
To help us to meet your individual needs, please contact your local store prior to your visit so that we can discuss any requirements you may have. This can be done using our Store Locator.
As part of our ongoing commitment to delighting our customers, MFI will endeavour to ensure that all disabled customers receive the same high standards of service as our able bodied customers. To ensure this we operate a Disability Needs Helpline.
The Disability Needs Helpline number is 0191 461 6597
Dedicated advisors will take calls from 9am to 6pm Monday - Saturday.
Customers will be able to call the helpline for queries in the following areas:
Our Customer Charter: for example, if a customer is unable to read or sign the Charter due to a disability, the Helpline can advise on the support available.
Our delivery procedures: we want to ensure that we minimise failed deliveries, so customers can call the Helpline to advise us that they will need special assistance to receive their delivery.
Additional facilities available: the Helpline can advise on other facilities such as hearing loops, customer wheelchairs and In Home Planning services.
