Bring the Hotel Look Home

A hotel-style bed is mostly about how everything is layered. Keep the base neat with a fitted sheet, add the duvet cover, then build up the pillows at the head of the bed. Standard pillowcases work well for the main sleeping pillows, while Oxford or square pillowcases can sit in front to give the bed a more finished look.

White is the obvious choice for that classic hotel feel, but it doesn’t have to be the only one. Natural, silver and light blue keep things light, while charcoal, dark blue or black create a moodier version. Sage and blush soften the look without losing that coordinated finish. Mixing two shades can also work well; keep the hotel style duvet and main pillows in one colour, then bring the second through sheets or decorative pillowcases.

A flat sheet can add another clean layer beneath the duvet, especially if you like the neatly turned-down look you often see in hotel rooms. If you prefer everything matched from the outset, a hotel bedding bundle can make putting the different pieces together simpler.
