Choose Your Connection
A switched fuse spur gives you local control, making it easier to turn off the connected appliance without reaching the consumer unit. An unswitched version is better suited to installations where an on/off control isn’t needed at the connection point.
Choose a model with a flex outlet when the appliance cable needs to pass directly through the front of the plate. This is commonly useful for fixed appliances where a standard plug and socket aren’t being used.
Check the appliance instructions before installation, as the fuse fitted inside the spur must have the correct rating for the equipment it protects. You’ll also need to make sure the existing back box, wiring and cable position suit the fitting you choose.
